Swanley House
Swanley Village, Kent

Contemporary meets traditional in a calm and elegant palette with zinging splashes.

The clients wanted a home that was not only aesthetically pleasing while also enhancing their well-being through the use of biophilic design and the principles of colour psychology.

Aesthetically the clients wished for a ‘contemporary-meets-traditional’, luxury interior design scheme for their inter-connected living and dining rooms. They were open to reusing elements of their existing, brown furniture where it fitted into the scheme. They were striving for a calming space that felt bright and airy.

To support this feeling, we proposed a palette of greens, a restful colour indicative of balance and harmony, and light off-white colours. The dark wooden floor grounds the scheme, and a mix of natural materials add a biophilic connection to nature.
