East London Garden

This city garden is to be designed as an extension of the home, providing additional living and entertainment space, even on dark evenings. Following a visit to Japan, the owners were keen to bring a sense of oriental design into this garden, through the use of gravel and paving. They also wanted to incorporate ‘floating' decking to give a sense of space and perspective to the garden. In particular, they wanted a low maintenance, trendy outdoor space with a ‘wow' factor.

"I'd been thinking of getting my garden designed for a while - I had some ideas based on pictures in books, but no real way of turning them into reality. Nicola took my ideas, and my plain old yard, and turned it into a peaceful oasis. She managed all the design, from sourcing tiles to choosing the plants, and all the graft, from getting the old paving slabs lifted, to filling the pond. Nicola's eye for detail shows in the way she combined key themes of Japanese plants, Moroccan paint colour and contemporary planters. All this, and a tight control of the budget.
Nicola's attention to detail is second to none, and the finishing was excellent. I would have no hesitation in recommending Nicola's work, and have already passed her details on."
